Few countries in Africa can match Namibia’s sheer natural beauty or as soul stirring. The country’s name derives from the world’s oldest desert, the Namib, and there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet – the otherworldliness of sand dunes plunging down to the ocean at Sandwich Harbour. At some point during your stay in Namibia, you may well look around and wonder if you’ve fallen off the end of the earth. This tends to happen most often along the country’s barren, sandswept coastline.
When you visit Namibia with Airborne, you’ll climb some of the highest sand dunes in Sossusvlei and be amazed by the barren beauty of Deadvlei, and see the twinkling stars of one of the clearest night skies on earth. You’ll meet members of the Himba and Damara tribes, the last semi-nomadic people of Namibia. We’ll take you on a Marine cruise on Walvis Bay and taste local oysters and experience a 4WD excursion at Sandwich Bay.
Meet the San Tribe – Bushmen of the Kalahari Desert and the glittering Etosha salt pan, Africa’s largest salt pan that’s visible from space. It’s set within Etosha National Park, a spectacular wilderness with remarkable populations of cheetah, black rhino and more. In a country where there’s more wild animals than people, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped onto another planet in Namibia.
